Who We Are
Our Beginnings
Dr. Blake Musick and Dr. Jenelle Musick began Life Well Pharmacy in response to a growing need for a better pharmacy experience. Blake decided to launch his own pharmacies after receiving so many complaints from providers about how poorly their patients were being treated at big-chain pharmacies, and thus Life Well Pharmacy was born. At the same time Life Well Pharmacy was started, Jenelle decided to go back to school for her Doctorate in Clinical Laboratory Science, and during her studies, she saw an opportunity to conduct labs in a way they had never been done.
"What I experienced during my rounds with physicians and patients is that providers lacked the ability to have real-time consults for difficult cases and patients needed an advocate."
What developed was Life Well Cadence Laboratories. A laboratory where providers get to meet with the CEO to come up with customized panels to get answers for patients that traditional labs cannot.
Our Expertise
Laboratory owner Dr. Vargas Musick, DCLS, MPH, MLS (ASCP) CM, has 20 years of expertise in research and clinical laboratory sciences in immunology, microbiology, and genetics. Dr. Musick began working at Lineberger Cancer Center as an undergraduate at UNC Chapel Hill at the age of 19. She worked in an immunology lab where she conducted murine and clinical research in Graft versus Host Disease. She won a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship for her research on T cells. She has won many business and professional awards.
Dr. Musick also holds a Master of Public Health degree from Liberty University, where she conducted research on addressing socioeconomic constraints in healthcare.
Dr. Musick graduated from the University of Kansas Medical School's Doctorate of Clinical Laboratory Science program in 2024. Her research focused on Rapid Whole Genome Sequencing in high-acuity inpatients in the NICU and PICU. Her genetic research involved diagnosing rare diseases using the latest genetic technology.

Dr. Musick is dedicated to using her education and background in microbiology/infectious disease, genetics, and immunology to improve patient care and experience by offering a customized panel of tests tailored to each patient.

Dr. Musick carefully selected each analyzer and the entire test menu by comparing sensitivity, specificity, ease of collection, cost, and utility to develop panels for chronic diseases, women's health, men's health, sports science, and genetic diseases.
